Farmers in the Bordertown district have swelled the Bordertown Health and Community Foundation coffers during harvest this year.
Five tonnes of grain, worth over $1000, have been delivered to Glencore in the name of the Foundation.
BHC Foundation chair Ken McInerney said the donations were gratefully received.
“I know this sounds like a small amount, ” he said. “but all of these small amounts add up and assist us to amass a capital fund from which we can distribute money to the hospital every year.”
“That’s the true value of these donations from the community, it helps us help the hospital so it can serve the community.”
The 2018 Murray to Moyne bicycle relay will be held over the weekend on April 7 and 8.
